Hotel Diamond is my home away from home. This was my 4th visit to Japan and I usually stay about a month. This is an excellent budget hotel with above average staff. The staff work hard and I believe they do not have a big turn around with their workers, so they must have a pretty respectful work place. The foreigners unfortunately bring their own disrespectful ways. Example: The smoking area is not the whole hotel as some guests assume though "No smoking" signs posted. Guests with children seem to leave their children in the lounge to go shopping without children....Please tend to your own children sign was once needed but not posted. The Japanese live a simple life. This is a Japanese style hotel for those on a budget. I am from USA

The front building has not been re-modelled, however, the photo tells all about the room: very simple, futon, window, locked door. All one needs to overnight. No curfew, staff always in place, close to Midosuji and Sakaisuji Bubway lines, two more minutes to Shin Imamiya. It is not shiny, but it is clean with good bath(men) and shower(for women). I have been there multiple times and still like the place.

The staff are exceptional and the reason why I come back to Hotel Diamond when i visit. This was my 6th visit to Osaka/Shin-Imamiya. What a great team of workers the hotel has to serve those who rest at their hotel, What a Japanese true to form trip. If you expect a western experience, stay home. Thanks again Hotel Diamond staff.

A private room for this price is very reasonable, even if it is very small. The room is quite comfortable and has a futon inside, it is quite clean. The hotel is in a good location, accessible both by metro and JR stations, so it's good if you have the JR pass. There is friendly staff, and you can buy soap, towel, razor etc.

Jan

It is a gem situated in proximity to a happening area within Osaka. The metro is right next door, but so much can be accessed on foot. There is a great strip of karaoke bars nearby. Den den town is a 20 minute walk up the road. To conclude, it is absolute bang for your buck if you are on a budget while in Osaka.
